Paul Segre, President and Chief Executive Officer

Paul Segre is the president and chief executive officer of Genesys. Since taking on these roles in 2007, he has led the company to consistent yearly double-digit growth, including record revenues of more than $610 million in 2012. Paul has expanded Genesys into new markets, driving innovation and aggressive growth in the areas of social and mobile customer service, analytics, back-office optimization, and cloud customer service.

Paul joined Genesys in 2002 as chief technology officer with responsibility for product management and engineering. In 2004, he became the company’s chief operating officer with responsibility for sales, service, and support.

From 2002 to 2011, Paul held a variety of executive management roles at Alcatel-Lucent, including president of the company’s Applications Group which included Genesys. During this time, he led a worldwide team and grew revenues to more than $2.9 billion.

Prior to Genesys, Paul held senior positions at DSC, Bell Labs, and AT&T Network Systems in strategy, business development, and operations support systems development. He holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics and a master's degree in operations research from Stanford University.


James Budge, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Financial Officer

James Budge

James Budge is the chief operating and chief financial officer at Genesys. He is responsible for the global finance, legal, human resources, corporate development, and information technology organizations. Since joining Genesys in 2012, James has led a worldwide initiative to optimize the company’s business processes and operations to drive increased efficiency, execution, and teamwork.

Prior to Genesys, James served as chief operating and chief financial officer of Rovi Corporation where he played an integral role in the company’s transformation, including significant revenue and earnings growth and 13 acquisitions over a five year period ranging in size from $15 million to over $2.8 billion. Previously, James served as chief financial officer of Trados, an enterprise management software provider, until its acquisition by SDL. He also served as chief financial officer of Sendmail, a secure email provider, and CrossWorlds Software, a provider of business infrastructure software, until its acquisition by IBM.

James holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Brigham Young University.


Tom Eggemeier, Executive Vice President, Global Sales

Tom Eggemeier is the executive vice president of global sales at Genesys. He is responsible for the company's sales and field operations.  In 2012, Tom led the company to record-breaking revenue, while building a sales organization that was awarded the 2012 sales transformation of the year by a sales consulting and benchmarking group.

Prior to his current role, Tom led Alcatel-Lucent’s global enterprise sales organization (which included Genesys) with revenue responsibility of approximately $1.8 Billion. Previously, Tom held a variety of leadership roles at Alcatel-Lucent, Enterasys Networks, and Compaq in the areas of general management, sales and channels, product management, marketing, corporate communications, and research and development.

Tom holds a juris doctorate degree from the University of Chicago Law School and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Dayton.


Reed Henry, Chief Marketing Officer

Reed Henry is the chief marketing officer for Genesys. He is responsible for the company’s worldwide marketing and go-to-market programs. Since joining Genesys in 2012, Reed has focused on building a world-class, global marketing organization to deliver outstanding demand generation and marketing programs.

Prior to Genesys, Reed led marketing for ArcSight Corporation where he transformed marketing to fuel the company’s growth from a private company to a successful fast growing public company. Previously, Reed led marketing and business development for SeeBeyond, a public company focused on business process and composite applications, and prior to that strategy, mergers and acquisitions and new business categories for eBay. Reed co-founded and led marketing and product management for Vertical Networks, a Kleiner Perkins-backed startup and pioneer of IP telephony and call center solutions for multi-site enterprises and SMBs.

Reed holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington, a master's degree in electrical engineering from the California Institute of Technology, and a master’s degree in business administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.


David Sudbey, Executive Vice President, Customer Success

David Sudbey is the executive vice president for customer success at Genesys. He is responsible for delivering the Genesys customer experience worldwide, leading the company’s customer experience, professional services, customer care, and education programs. In addition, he oversees Genesys Prime, the Brazil-based team dedicated to innovative self-service applications. In 2012, David led the transformation of the company’s customer support program and played a key role in redesigning the company’s approach to professional services and education. David joined Genesys in 1997 and has held a variety of roles in senior management, including professional services, strategic sales, business operations, and sales engineering.

Prior to Genesys, David led a call center applications team that focused on emerging technologies for Nortel Networks.

David graduated from Wentworth Technology Institute Telecommunications Program and completed Harvard Business School's General Manager Program.


Merijn te Booij, Executive Vice President, Product & Solution Strategy

Merijn te Booij is the executive vice president of product and solution strategy at Genesys. He is responsible for all aspects of the company’s product management lifecycle, including product strategy, sales enablement, customer research and analysis, and competitive intelligence. In 2012, Merijn led a strategic initiative to develop customer service and contact center solutions across a range of use cases and industries, creating new opportunities to apply Genesys expertise to solutions for the benefit of its customers.

Merijn joined Genesys in 2000 as a sales consultant in its Europe, Middle East, and Africa Region. He served as vice president of professional services, creating and leading the Genesys Business Consulting practice.

Prior to Genesys, Merijn gained extensive experience in running contact centers, having managed contact center operations for the Dutch Automobile Association in Holland.

Merijn holds a master's degree in international law from the Rijksuniversiteit Utrecht in the Netherlands.


Slava Zhakov, Chief Technology Officer

Slava Zhakov is the chief technology officer for Genesys. He is responsible for product development, setting the company’s technical vision, and leading all aspects of technology development and innovation. In 2012, Slava led the engineering team to deliver innovative products that extended Genesys into new areas, including mid-sized contact centers and cloud customer service solutions. Slava joined Genesys in 1998 and most recently served as chief technology officer of Alcatel-Lucent’s Applications Group, leading product development for Genesys as well as the company’s enterprise and carrier communications products.

Prior to Genesys, Slava founded Program-Technique, a software development company. He also taught as a Professor at the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.

Slava holds a master’s degree in computer science and a doctorate degree from the St. Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.
